An unforeseen challenge was the amount of rock that had to be moved on-site. This was cleverly repurposed and positioned to create landscaping terraces that complement the building and its outdoor spaces.
MATERIALS WITH MEANING AND PURPOSE
Façade and roofing materials were carefully selected and arranged based on their orientation and exposure to the elements. Western façade masonry walls were constructed with cavities, including one that contains a sliding louvre to shield the patio from the western sun. Other west-facing openings are fitted with aluminium louvres for additional control.
Beyond achieving the desired aesthetic inside and out, despite a challenging site environment, the true success of this project is reflected in the client’ s complete satisfaction. IB
