Shannon Gregg received her B.A. in
English Literature from the University
of Pittsburgh, where she completed the Pitt-in-
London study abroad program. She also earned
an MBA from Point Park University with a
concentration in Management, and is currently
working on her doctorate in Community
Engagement at Point Park.
“My PhD research is focused on how nonprofit
organizations use Salesforce.com and other CRM
systems to give more time to focusing on the
nonprofit’s mission statement, and I can’t wait to
use my research and platform as the president of
Cloud Adoption Solutions (a Salesforce consulting
partner) to help traditionally time-challenged
social ventures find more time for their priorities,”
says Gregg.
“I spent my formative years in the Woodland
Hills area,” she notes. “One of the best things
about Woodland Hills is its history and legacy—
every new friend I made in school, one of my
parents knew their parents. It’s so nice to have a
shared history!”
Gregg recently co-authored a book with R.
Shawn McBride titled, “It’s About Time: How to
Do More of What Matters in the Time You Have.”
The idea began when the two were contacted by an
event producer who asked them to speak together
at a national convention. “When we realized how
our topics and expertise fit together, we decided
to turn it into a book that we could hand out to the
people attending the event,” explains Gregg. “We
truly put time management into action—we hired

a cover designer, illustrator, editor and had the
book turned around and ready to print in just a
few weeks. It’s truly taken on a life of its own.”
Gregg has spent most of her adult life working
in sales operations, sales process and sales
productivity—all of which influenced her book
on time management. “Technology companies,
particularly those in heavy merger/acquisition
markets, move at the speed of sales, and the more
effectively and efficiently you can work, the better
it is,” she says. “I love getting inside of a process,
evaluating the waste, and determining where
automation can improve upon it or data can
influence strategic decisions.”
Gregg and McBride’s book is different from
many time management books in that it’s “you”
based. It doesn’t give a prescriptive program that
may not work for your unique life—it gives tips
and philosophies so busy people can determine
what should be the priority as they try to manage
their busy life.
“ In 2019, a common greeting is, ‘I’m crazy
busy!’ We wear it as a badge of honor,” adds
Gregg. “Our communities need our help
so we can continue to develop community
programming, encourage community
engagement and find ways to fit in actions of
kindness and generosity—this book is a guide
for those who really want to find time to do what
matters.”
Shannon Gregg lives in Dormont with her
husband, Lucas Felman, and daughter, Halligan.
The book, published in October 2018, is available
on Amazon. ■
