Curious about growing your own food
but not sure where to start? Check out
these FREE beginners workshops, where
we’ll cover: selecting a space, basics of
raised beds and container gardens, intro
to soil and compost needs, and easy
veggies to get you started, from seed to
harvest. Registration is required for these
informative workshops; limited to 30
participants each.
U.S. CENSUS 2020: You Count!
April 1 is Census Day, observed
nationwide. By this date, households
will receive census forms so you can
participate in the 2020 Census. Be on the
lookout for yours! Library computers will
be available if you want to fill out your
census information online. An accurate
census helps to ensure that communities,
schools and libraries receive adequate
funding based on their populations.

part-time, well-paying work as a census
taker.

MORE SALE

year for gardens! It’s time for tomatoes,
peppers, herbs, squashes, and so much
more! The Swissvale Community Garden
will host this plant sale at the Carnegie
Free Library of Swissvale featuring
numerous veggie varieties that do best in
the warmer season. Most plants are $3/
pot or 2 for $5. Proceeds benefit projects
of the Swissvale Community Garden.
