The Kuczma scholarships are awarded each year to graduating seniors at West Mifflin Area High School, and provide cash awards to three students seeking postsecondary education. All applicants for the scholarships must have had a family member who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces. TOWN HALL SOUTH ANNOUNCES 2017-18 SPEAKER SERIES Town Hall South is a philanthropic organization dedicated to bringing nationally and internationally acclaimed lecturers to the South Hills. Founded in 1969 as an outreach program of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, Town Hall South continues to function as a self-sustaining entity under the gracious auspices of the church. Annually, a portion of proceeds is awarded as grants to a wide variety of local organizations in the surrounding community. STUDENTS RECOGNIZED FOR ‘STAND TOGETHER’ More than 250 students from nine Allegheny County schools will be recognized for their outstanding work on projects they completed while participating in “Stand Together,” an educational campaign designed to reduce the stigma of mental illness toward peers, funded by Staunton Farm Foundation, Community Care Behavioral Health, and Allegheny Health Choices, Inc. Students will present the images, posters and projects they created to deliver the anti-stigma message to Continued on next page > ALLEGHENY COUNTY ADDS SATURDAY HOURS FOR MARRIAGE LICENSES AND PASSPORTS THROUGH OCT. 28 The county’s marriage license and passport office will offer Saturday hours over the summer to accommodate requests for more convenience. Begun in April and running through October, the office will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. These hours are in addition to the office’s regular hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
