Bringing the Beat Back to Andrew E . Reilly Memorial Park !
On Saturday , September 28th , 2024 , the 2nd Annual Rocktoberfest rocked Andrew E . Reilly Memorial Park once again . The event featured live music , craft beer , delicious food , and a variety of local vendors , making it a great fall day for families and friends .
The crowd was on its feet throughout the day , enjoying performances by Ruff Creek and The Alt Rocks , who kept the energy high and the tunes rolling .
Eventgoers had their pick of seasonal brews from Truss Brewing , Firewhistle Brewing , and Yough River Brewing Co ., which could be paired with bites from Vesta 88 Riverhouse , Megalodon Cafe , The Fudge Guy , a classic carnival stand , and the sweet treats of Kiss My Apples Desserts . Rocktoberfest drew in a variety of vendors , showcasing handcrafted and unique goods , offering the perfect opportunity to support small businesses and find something special .
A huge thank you goes out to the Jefferson Hills Recreation Board , performers , brewers , and vendors who put together this fun-filled event for the community . This event continues to grow in both excitement and attendance , and we look forward to seeing everyone back next year for another incredible Rocktoberfest !
New Dek Hockey Rink COMING SOON to Andrew E . Reilly Memorial Park !
Exciting recreation news ! The installation of a new dek hockey rink is underway at Andrew E . Reilly Memorial Park , bringing a fantastic recreational opportunity for residents of all ages . The rink aims to provide a safe and engaging space for everyone , from casual players to competitive teams .
Originally owned by South Hills Dek Hockey LLC , the rink was generously donated to the Borough by JMI , a local Jefferson Hills business that acquired the property . Knowing that Borough Council previously explored purchasing the site for recreational use , JMI decided to donate the rink , allowing it to be placed at a location of the Borough ’ s choosing .
Dek hockey is a blend of ice hockey and street hockey that can be played year-round , promoting fitness , teamwork , and community spirit . The rink will host youth and adult leagues , pickup games , and tournaments , fostering camaraderie among residents as they come together to compete and cheer each other on .
The new rink will be located across the hill from the amphitheater , in the park ’ s back corner , and will feature a smooth surface , league-standard goals , and perimeter boards . The rink will accommodate all skill levels — from beginners learning the ropes to seasoned players refining their skills .
The installation is being led by the Borough ’ s Public Works Department and is expected to be completed by late spring 2025 . Michael Facchiano Contracting , a local contractor , is also contributing to the project , generously donating their time and labor to pour the concrete slab on which the rink will be placed . In recognition of their efforts , they will receive naming rights for the rink . As construction progresses , updates will be shared through the Borough ' s social media channels . We can ’ t wait to see the community enjoy this new addition to Andrew E . Reilly Memorial Park !
