TJHS Students Recognized by School Board
At the September 24 regular meeting of the West Jefferson Hills School District Board of Directors , Thomas Jefferson High School Principal Peter Murphy and Assistant Principals Dr . Erikka Kuhse and Dr . Adam Knaresborough recognized a group of Thomas Jefferson High School students for their assistance with several back-to-school initiatives .
Students Alayna Button , Zoie De Costro , Ryan Lucas , Isabella Stosic , and Addison Tuladzieck gave up many hours this summer to assist with teacher interviews . These Jaguars sat in on lessons led by teacher-candidates and provided great feedback to high school administrators as they evaluated the candidates .
Anthony Cardillo , Callie Dailey , James Hausman IV , Jackson Lubash , and Aaron Reed played pivotal roles in organizing the Jaguar LEAP Freshmen Orientation in August . Their planning and contributions helped to welcome the Class of 2028 to Thomas Jefferson High School .
Shepherd Turk was asked by Dr . Knaresborough on the first day of school to speak with the freshmen class about the core values of Thomas Jefferson High School . Not only did Shepherd agree to participate on short notice , Dr . Knaresborough told the board , but he embodies those core values every day .
Pink Out Leaders
Celebrated
At the October 22 regular meeting of the West Jefferson Hills School Board , a group of fifth grade Jaguars was recognized for the leadership they have shown throughout the first quarter of the school year . The group of students recently helped with a bracelet sale and Pink Out that raised more than $ 2,000 for breast cancer research .
The recognized students were Logan Aaron , Colton Balducci , Liliana Britenbaugh , Steven Callaghan , Beatrice Campedel , Delaney Collins , Akshata Dhaurali , Maggie Egan , Evan Ganley , Abby Graff , Sadie Hawk , Alexander Hurst , Calliope Lehman , Cooper Mitko , Eli Noel , Macie Palmer , Carson Petersavage , Khylee Polen , Addison Shearouse , Alexander Swanson , Abel Tembo , Nathan Vinay , Vincent Viola , Madison Wasko , and Aria Weaver .
On October 28 , the students presented their donation to the St . Clair Health Foundation .
School Board Member Honored for Service Milestone
West Jefferson Hills School District Board Member Denise Kahler was honored at the September 24 regular meeting by the district and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association for her five years of service on the school board . The PSBA Honor Roll is the association ’ s initiative to thank individuals who exemplify leadership by giving unselfishly of their time and talents for Pennsylvania ' s public schools and students .
Mrs . Kahler was presented a certificate by Superintendent Dr . Janet Sardon .
