A Letter From

Library Director ,

DANA FARABAUGH

New Year , New Look
When I came on as the director of the Jefferson Hills Public Library , I had a long list of ideas and projects that I wanted to tackle . The previous year changed so much about how the library serves its community and what our community members expect from us . The library board and staff felt that it was time for an update to better communicate the place we hold in the community and the services we provide .
Over the summer , the library board contracted with Plus Public , LLC to create a new logo , branding colors , and total website redesign . With input from the board , staff , and community members , Plus Public developed a new logo that reflects our status as an inviting , vibrant community hub .
The logo is a design that can be interpreted by our Jefferson Hills community in a number of ways : while at first glance the image appears to be a warm sun rising over rolling hills with a white pathway leading to the library , if you look again you can see a person reading a book , with the yellow circle representing
a head and the green hills turning into the cover of a book . The bright , welcoming colors were selected to represent the inviting , accessible , and knowledgeable characteristics that the library strives to embody . The next step was a total redesign of our website , www . jeffersonhillslibrary . org . While we love having folks visit our library , we know that many of our patrons might never step foot inside our building . During the COVID-19 pandemic , the library expanded our digital resources to meet the needs of our residents who were spending more time at home . Our library and county library system added thousands of eBooks and eAudiobooks , increased borrowing limits , and added WorldBook Online and Tutor . com to support students learning from home . The only problem was , our website did not do a great job at showing our community all of the amazing digital resources we have .
Plus Public designed a new website that is easy to use , visually appealing , and showcases all of the amazing services and resources we provide . Please visit our new website to learn more about upcoming events , services and resources for community members of all ages , and recommendations for books , movies , and more . We also have several ways for you to make suggestions for programs , books , and other things that the library can offer .

Our rebranding and new website are the first steps on an exciting journey that the library plans to undertake in the upcoming years . We are focused on becoming an integral and invaluable part of the community and serving all residents . As always , I welcome you to contact me at farabaughd @ einetwork . net with any questions or ideas for how we can better serve the Jefferson Hills community . est Jefferson Hills BOROUGH OF JEFFERSON HILLS LIBRARY NEWS
