Red Ribbon Week Culminates with Halloween
On October 25 , the Jefferson Hills Intermediate and Gill Hall and McClellan Elementary schools were excited to begin Red Ribbon Week ! The Red Ribbon campaign is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation , annually reaching millions of young people . The initiative has also incorporated anti-bullying into the campaign . The goal of Red Ribbon Week is for all of the students to raise awareness , to love and respect themselves , and others , and remain drug-free and bully-free .
Each day of Red Ribbon Week was filled with different lessons and activities at the schools to reinforce the message of rejecting bullying , drugs , alcohol and tobacco .
Monday , 10 / 25 – Our K-2 students were following their “ dreams ” by making good choices and wearing their pajamas to school , while the JHIS students wore red to show that they were “ Red-y ” to say NO to drugs and bullying ! Students also had the opportunity to sign the Red Ribbon pledge .
