PHMS Students Take PRIDE in Helping Others

leasant Hills Middle School students and staff continue to make it a top priority to help others in need. Each school
year the PHMS Student Council leads a food drive to benefit the Olivet Presbyterian Church Food Bank. Students
collect donations by hosting three Pancake Breakfasts for their fellow students. Thank you to our students, Mr. Kerr,
Mr. Gennaula, and Mrs. McCauley for leading the way.
The PHMS Girls’ Volleyball teams are also doing their part to support the food drive. The girls’ teams took on the middle
school parent and teacher all-stars led by coaches Jill Startari and Kerri Lockhart in a charity volleyball game on October
19, 2016. Admission required a donation of two canned goods. The students and staff surpassed last year’s total of almost
10,000 lbs. of donated goods!
We would also like to thank Sam’s Club for a generous donation for the food drive.
