Tri-Community Anglers Association Program Tuesday, April 4 7 to 8 p. m.
A representative from the Peters Creek Watershed Association will provide background on the Peters Creek watershed. We wIll discuss Tri-Community Anglers Association activities and fishing in Peters Creek and Piney Fork. Orvis Pittsburgh will provide a Fly-Tying / Fly Fishing Demonstration.
Spring Wreath Craft Class Tuesday, March 21 6:30 to 8 p. m.
Bring a friend and join us as we craft a spring wreath with our library staff on a grapevine or twig base. Learn the basic skills that will also enable you to craft a wreath for all upcoming holidays and seasons. Cost of the evening will be $ 35 and includes all wreath materials including a bow. Signup is required on our website Event Keeper no later than March 14 or by calling the Library.
CPR for Family and Friends Tuesday, March 7 6:30 to 8:30 p. m. Taught by Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance Association Paramedics
This course is intended for the general public to learn the basic steps necessary to perform“ Hands-Only CPR.” Partnering with JHAAA, the members of the general public will become an asset to our community, providing early CPR in the event of a witnessed sudden cardiac arrest prior to the arrival of emergency responders. This skill is crucial in the link to survival for sudden cardiac arrest victims. Will you help us save a life? Please note that completion of this seminar does not result in receipt of an AHA course completion card. This is a non-credentialed course for the general public.

Do you know that the ACCESS Taxi Act 65 Plus Program allows healthy senior citizens 65 and over to reserve a ride daily from 6 a. m. to 10 p. m. to anywhere in Allegheny County for as little as $ 3.15 per ride? Most people think that ACCESS transportation is only for the disabled, those wishing to get to their doctor’ s appointment or perform an important errand like grocery shopping. Join us on February 7 as a representative from ACCESS Transit explains all of the ACCESS Programs available to our community and signs us up!

We continue to learn the basics and advantages of YOGA exercise. This class is suitable for the beginner or intermediate student. Bring a mat to class. NOTE: Tuition is $ 5 per class, payable at the Library desk before the class. However if you attend both classes in the same week, tuition is $ 7 for both classes. Participants will be given a schedule with dates when class is cancelled due to other events in the building.

Baby Sitters Training for Teenagers Saturday, January 21 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. Tuition: $ 20
This course will be taught by Certified Instructors. Jefferson Hills Library is now a certified Safe Sitter ® teaching site to deliver the baby sitting training course for teens and pre-teens age 11 and up. Safe Sitter ® is a national, non-profit organization that provides programs to teach youth life and safety skills for when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. This popular class is a continuation from our fall program, but this session will be for adults, age 18 and over. Did you ever wish you had just a little Spanish in your vocabulary? This class continues to familiarize students with common words, greetings and phrases that come in handy while traveling or communicating. With over 35 million people speaking Spanish in the U.
