Class of 2026: Class Dismissed by Mr. Murphy— One Chapter Ends, Another Begins!
The Thomas Jefferson High School Class of 2026 celebrated a major milestone during the Sixty-Seventh Commencement Ceremony on June 4, 2026. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and community members, 275 graduates were recognized for their accomplishments and contributions throughout their high school years. Through excellence in academics, athletics, the arts, extracurricular activities, and community service, the Class of 2026 leaves a legacy of Jaguar pride as they begin the next chapter of their journeys.
Several members of the Class of 2026 addressed their classmates during the commencement ceremony, including Class President Mason Grilli and classmates Nazar Yerubayev and Quenne Zeng. Grilli reflected on the significance of the moment, stating,“ Although tonight marks the end of one chapter, it is also the beginning of another. Some of us are leaving home for the first time. Some of us are chasing lifelong dreams. Some of us are still figuring out what that‘ dream’ is, and that is okay. The truth is, there is no single path forward because each of us is the architect of our own future.” His message encouraged graduates to embrace the opportunities

Yerubayev reflected on the shared experiences, challenges, and accomplishments that united the graduating class, encouraging his fellow graduates to carry forward the lessons they learned at Thomas Jefferson High School and to approach the future with determination and purpose.
Zeng concluded the student addresses with a powerful reminder of the responsibility that comes with opportunity. She stated,“ As we move forward, we should use our privilege and the opportunities given to us to create something meaningful, not only for ourselves, but for those around us. The world needs original thinkers willing to go the extra mile; it needs people who are compassionate, willing to lead with respect, empathy, and integrity, the very pillars that have been drilled into us as Jaguars.” Her remarks challenged graduates to use their talents and experiences to make a positive impact on their communities and the world beyond.
