Explore Local History and Culture with 2025 Experience Kits
Summer experiences await with the return of the popular Experience Kits, courtesy of the Allegheny County Library Association( ACLA), which offers library patrons an enriching way to explore local museums and historical sites, completely free with a library card.
WHAT ARE EXPERIENCE KITS? Experience Kits are curated packages that provide free admission for two adults and up to six children to a selection of participating museums and historic sites in the Pittsburgh area. Each kit includes an informational card to enhance the visit, making it an ideal outing for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone interested in exploring the cultural heritage of the Pittsburgh region.
This year’ s Experience Kits grant access to ten different locations, including the Senator John Heinz History Center, Fort Pitt Museum, Meadowcroft Rock Shelter & Historic Village, Bushy Run Battlefield, Depreciation Lands, Duncan & Miller Glass Museum, Gibson House Manor, Historic Fort Steuben, Historic Harmony, and William Vicary Mansion.
HOW TO RESERVE A KIT
Kits are available to reserve in advance or can be checked out on a walk-in basis, depending on availability.
• Kits are loaned out from Monday to Sunday.
• Reserved kits may be picked up on the corresponding Monday.
• All kits must be returned by the following Sunday to ensure access for other patrons.
