Event Bring Girls Together at TJHS

This spring, more than 150 girls from Pleasant Hills Middle School along with Thomas Jefferson High School students and faculty and staff from throughout the district attended the annual GOLD Night. GOLD stands for Girls Only Leadership Development and seeks to empower girls in grades 3-12 to be strong, confident, and courageous leaders. The three-hour event featured dinner, a keynote speaker, and sessions that girls selected based on their interests. The sessions were led by WJH faculty and staff, TJHS students, and female leaders from throughout the community. Some activities included cookie decorating, friendship bracelet making, and slime making so the girls knew to ooze with confidence. The GOLD Committee received a grant from the West Jefferson Hills Foundation for Education that made the evening’ s activities possible.
