KENNYWOOD’ S OPEN
Kennywood is open for the season and the 125-year-old park has a new themed area for kids— and the young at heart— called Kennywood Junction. It’ s a small steel-town neighborhood with five rides that families can experience together.
The rides include Kenny’ s Cargo Drop, Parker’ s Cloud Cruisers, Fire Bustin’ Brigade, Olde Kennywood Railroad, and Coal Haulin’ Convoy, all of which honor Pittsburgh’ s steel and industrial roots and are very interactive for children.

OPERATION TROOP APPRECIATION
We recently observed Memorial Day, remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It also reminds us of our currently serving members and the desire to support them however we can. Operation Troop Appreciation helps servicemembers deployed anywhere in the world, either in combat or on humanitarian missions as active duty, reservists or U. S. National Guard. This assistance includes providing items needed by the troops while deployed, and helping veterans transitioning back into civilian life. For more information on this organization, which is based in West Mifflin, visit operationtroopappreciation. org.
FEEDING THE COMMUNITY
The Cloverleaf Area Ecumenical Assistance program serves area families in need of food or other assistance. It operates out of the Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, with many individuals, churches and synagogues participating.
The food pantry is located at the St. Elizabeth of Hungary school building, and distributes food every two weeks throughout the year, providing more than 120,000 lbs. of food annually. It is staffed entirely by volunteers. If you would be able to contribute to the mission of the pantry, or are willing to volunteer, visit cloverleafpantry. org for more information. n
