PHMS Lauds Student Achievement
At the conclusion of each school year , Pleasant Hills Middle School takes time to recognize our 6th , 7th and 8th grade students for their academic accomplishments . In 6th and 7th grades , students may be recognized for yearly honor roll , department awards and perfect attendance . Sixth grade students can also earn the Reading Challenge Award .
The 8th grade recognition program is an important tradition at Pleasant Hills Middle School . It ’ s our final chance to spend time with the 8th grade students and express our best wishes before they transition to the high school . Students were recognized for a variety of accomplishments , including : yearly honor roll , perfect attendance , the Presidential Education Award , Department awards , The Tommy Wilson Award and the American Legion Women ’ s Auxiliary Award . Congratulations to all the 2024 student honorees !
Renovated Chill Room Unveiled
Allegheny Health Network ( AHN ) proudly unveiled an upgraded AHN Chill Room™ at Pleasant Hills Middle School , made possible by a generous $ 20,000 donation from Clearview Federal Credit Union .
The AHN Chill Project™ is a school-based mindfulness program that provides behavioral health support for students and staff . The AHN Chill Room provides a space for students to visit during the school day to learn coping skills , practice decompression techniques , and connect with AHN behavioral health specialists to support their overall emotional and mental well-being .
The revamped space coincides with the fifth anniversary of the AHN Chill Project . PHMS was the first middle school to pilot the AHN Chill Project following its 2019 launch .
