A Letter From
Library Director
DANA FARABAUGH
Libraries have evolved beyond their traditional role as mere repositories of books , transforming into vibrant community hubs that offer diverse and engaging programs . From aweinspiring celestial events to crucial safety education and thrilling summer reading adventures , libraries today are more dynamic than ever . This spring and summer , the Jefferson Hills Library is holding events that inspire , inform , and entertain .
As the cosmos aligns for a breathtaking solar eclipse , the Library is gearing up to transform this celestial event into an educational and awe-inspiring experience for the entire community . From free eclipse glasses to a lively viewing party and a presentation from an astrologer about the cosmic significance of eclipses , the library is your go-to destination to learn about this rare celestial event .
In collaboration with Jefferson Hills Fire Rescue , the Jefferson Hills Library is equipping our community with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to fire emergencies . Fire Chief Brian Chalfant will share important fire safety tips and demonstrate how to use fire suppression blankets and fire extinguishers . Everyone in attendance will be entered into a raffle to win their own fire blanket or extinguisher .
We ’ re also getting ready for our annual summer reading program . From STEM activities to nature hikes and video game clubs , this summer the library will offer programs for readers of
all ages that inspire people to explore new worlds , unlocking the doors to creativity and fostering a lifelong love of reading .
We hope you ’ ll stop by the Library and discover all the ways we foster a sense of community , promote education , and create lasting memories for participants of all ages . Be prepared for an adventure that extends far beyond the confines of the bookshelves ! est Jefferson Hills BOROUGH BOROUGH OF JEFFERSON OF JEFFERSON HILLS HILLS LIBRARY NEWS NEWS
