Melissa Steffey , in her fourth year on Council and third year as Council President , brings extensive community involvement , having served eleven years on the Jefferson Hills Recreation Board before running for Council . She currently serves on the Finance , Public Safety , and Pension Board Committees as well as the Jefferson Hills Borough Council delegate to the South Hills Area Council of Government ( SHACOG ) and Recreation Board . Aside from local government , Melissa has spent 17 years as a fulltime realtor with this year marking her seventh at Jeffrey Costa Select Realty . As a mother of three , her schedule is filled with activities including cheerleading , youth football , lacrosse , baseball , and basketball .
Melissa ' s priority is transparency and community development . She aims to establish a Community / Recreation center in Jefferson Hills catering to all age groups . Additionally , she would like to explore the transition to a “ Home Rule Charter ”, offering opportunities like freezing tax increases for Senior Citizens and enhancing local government . Hilary Budd is beginning her third year on Council , concurrently marking her third year as Council Vice President . With an extensive background as an emergency services dispatcher for nearly two decades , Hilary developed a diverse range of expertise in public safety and municipal affairs . Beyond her professional commitments , Hilary finds joy in hunting and fishing with her husband , while her interests extend to gardening , reading , and a perpetual quest for knowledge .
Passionate about the well-being of the community , Hilary is dedicated to collaborating with Borough personnel to address the needs and desires of residents . Her goal is to uphold and enhance infrastructure , engage with varied voices , and devise plans that cater to the needs of children , families , and senior citizens . Hilary values the high level of safety within the community and acknowledges that there are significant opportunities available to both preserve specific areas of the Borough and cultivate other areas to their fullest potential .
David Montgomery is a public servant with a 21-year tenure on Borough Council . Over the past 15 years , Dave has served as the Planning Commission Chairman , amassing a total of 24 years dedicated to planning services . His commitment extends to the South Hills Area Council of Governments ( SHACOG ), where he has played a role on the Board for 17 years , including a year as the Board President . In addition to his local contributions , Dave has spent the past year as a legislative aide for PA State Representative Andrew Kuzma . In this role , he aids constituents in navigating a spectrum of issues , ranging from rent rebates and property taxes to PennDOT matters , licensing , health services , and more .
Looking ahead , Dave ’ s primary focus within the new Council will be to pursue grants more aggressively , aiming to propel the advancement of the community where he grew up .
Joseph Lynch was reelected following a partial two-year term . Along with an additional two years serving on the Environmental Advisory Council ( EAC ), Joe focuses his workdays on transportation maintenance . In this role , he supervises personnel , oversees equipment , handles budgeting , and implements strategies for optimal fleet and support services . Committed to community well-being , Joseph actively advocates for veteran transitional services , mental health awareness , and collaboration with local veteran groups . In his leisure time , he enjoys weightlifting , fishing , hiking , and walking with his wife and dogs .
On Borough Council , Joe strives to modernize public services , with a focus on investing in recreation , influencing business growth , and expanding strategic partnerships within the community . Joe ’ s favorite aspect of Jefferson Hills is the family atmosphere , where residents share a sense of duty , contributing to a supportive and close-knit environment .
