A Letter from Chief Ron Dziezgowski est Jefferson Hills BOROUGH OF JEFFERSON HILLS LIBRARY NEWS NEWS

CHIEF RON DZIEZGOWSKI Residents ,
I hope this letter finds everyone well and rested from the holidays . 2024 is off to a great start !
As we jump into springtime and warmer weather , I continue to reflect on what a wonderful community we have in Jefferson Hills and the many resources available to our residents . Some of the resources I am referring to are our wonderful library , administrative staff , and first responders ( police , fire , EMS ).
Additionally , I would like to remind our residents that the Borough of Jefferson Hills has numerous walking trails and parks that provide everyone , especially our adventure seekers , the opportunity to become one with nature . Obviously , the warmer weather brings a smile to everyone ’ s face and entices all of us to get out of the house , exercise , ride bikes , walk the dogs , or just get a breath of fresh air . These areas give people the space to reset , refresh , and relax after a long day at work or being stuck in the house .
Each of our five local parks provide unique amenities that offer a welcoming , accessible , and safe environment for all your outdoor needs . I encourage all our residents and visitors to take advantage of our parks and trails but do so responsibly .
Over the last two years , the Borough of Jefferson Hills has invested in significant upgrades to many of the parks to improve their appeal , safety , and security . Improvements to Beedle Park , Gill Hall Park ( GBU ), and Andrew Reilly ( 885 ) Park include : security cameras throughout the facilities ; timed access control to certain buildings and bathrooms ; and free WI-FI service . Signage has been erected at each park to alert residents about the security surveillance cameras and available WI-FI service . Your safety and security while using community parks are paramount to the Jefferson Hills Police Department ( JHPD ).
Recently , the JHPD has been receiving several reports of individuals walking their dogs on athletic fields in the parks and allowing their dogs to defecate on the fields .
This creates unsanitary conditions for the children and adults using those facilities . Further , complaints have been received about bicycles , dirt bikes , and ATVs riding in Borough parks and on the fields creating damage to those areas . Both are violations of Borough ordinance and a citable offense .
I am asking for your cooperation to deter this type of activity , or if you witness such activity , report it immediately by calling 911 so
52 WEST JEFFERSON HILLS it can be investigated . Together , we can make a difference and keep our parks and trails safe for all to enjoy . The Borough ordinances that I have referenced are listed below for your review and knowledge .
