McClellan Elementary is the first school in the district to have an automatic water bottle filler. Last year, a parent noticed the students struggling to fill up their water bottles from our traditional water fountains. The students were only able to fill their bottles up half way because the water ended up spilling out all over the floor. The PTA voted to purchase an attachment to add on to our water fountain that would give students the ability to automatically fill their water bottles with filtered water. Additionally, it keeps track of how many water bottles are filled. This lets us know how many bottles we have saved from being thrown in the trash. In just two months, we’ ve filled over 760 bottles! Thanks again PTA for not only helping our students, but helping the environment as well.
