Top Place to Live in Pennsylvania By Mark Reis, Building Code Official W ith spring upon us, we would just like to pass along a reminder to Borough residents and business owners about the importance of maintaining their properties for the betterment of our entire community. Our Borough has a Property Maintenance Ordinance that, among other things, prohibits the accumulation of rubbish or debris on a property and grass/weeds in excess of 6 inches in height. This would include items such as old building materials, tires, car parts, indoor furniture kept outside and vehicles that do not have a current registration and inspection. We routinely watch for violations of this Ordinance, but would like to ask you to do your part in keeping our Borough free of these kinds of issues and continuing to make Jefferson Hills Borough a community we can all be proud of. F or the second time in just over two years, the Borough of Jefferson Hills has won honors as a Best Place to Live in Pennsylvania. WalletHub.com announced that Jefferson Hills came in third out of 129 cities in PA as “Best Places for Families to Live in PA.” The criteria for the award to find the “most family friendly cities in PA” included an analysis of 129 cities across four key dimensions: 1) Family Life & Fun, 2) Education, Health & Safety, 3) Affordability, and 4) Socioeconomic Environment.
