The 2022-23 school year is upon us , learning has started within the buildings , the laughter and camaraderie among the students is exhilarating and the anticipation of a year filled with opportunities is inspiring .
Over the last couple of months , I have had the privilege to attend a number of community events throughout the West Jefferson Hills School District . I ’ ve met students , staff , parents and families . The first thing I noticed was the welcoming atmosphere , the passion for children and the desire to be the very best in all we do as a community and school district . As the new Superintendent for the West Jefferson Hills School District , I am beyond excited to begin my journey to continue the great things being done within the district and celebrate our accomplishments , while continuing the tradition of excellence that has been established .
During my initial 90 days within the district , I am planning to spend time getting to know all of the district stakeholders , including the students , staff , administration , school board , community and businesses . I will be conducting individual meetings / interviews , attending local events and meetings , and surveying our staff and community to begin the development of our district comprehensive plan and a five-year working plan in all areas of operation , while focusing on excellence and achievement and student well-being .
Garnering thoughtful feedback from our community , getting to know one another and planning for the future is critical to our continued growth and success . I look forward to the path that we will forge together over the coming years .
FinalIy , I am a lifelong resident of the West Jefferson Hills SD and have raised my family in the district I call home . I could not be more proud to serve our community as superintendent . I welcome community input about any aspect of our district and maintain an open-door policy . I believe that working together as a team will allow us to create an atmosphere of respect , integrity , empathy and pride .
