One of the first statues erected
of John F. Kennedy after his
assassination, the statue stands
in Kennedy Park at the same spot
where Kennedy gave a speech
in1962. A short distance away is the
vacant Penn McKee Hotel, at 122
Fifth Ave., where Kennedy and Nixon
debated the Taft-Hartley
Act of 1947.
Hartwood Acres might make you feel
as if you are the guest in an English
Manor home across the sea. The
lavish Tudor mansion is part of the
Allegheny County Parks System, and
the site of themed teas, luncheons and
outdoor summer concerts.
