The Erie Playhouse,
in cooperation with
Erie Port Authority,
will conduct tours of
the historic Erie Land
Lighthouse. Groups of
15 (over 48” in height)
will be taken up the 69
steps to the top to view the scenic Erie harbor
and surrounding area. Those waiting will
pass the time enjoying historic photographic
renderings. There is also a playground for the
children to enjoy. All proceeds benefit the
Erie Playhouse Youtheatre program.

The PA Lake Erie International Coastal
Cleanup is an annual trash cleanup event.
Volunteers gather at one of the 17 different
cleanup locations along Erie County
waterways to pick up trash and collect

Information gathered is used to develop and
prioritize management strategies to lessen the
amount of trash entering our waterways and
provide outreach and education information

Erie has historically been a capital of
freshwater fishing, and Lake Erie offers a great
diversity of fish species that the surrounding
communities have depended on for centuries
and it continues today to be a big part of
Erie’s economy. Visit the TREC to view a
new exhibit highlighting the history of fishing
in our region, the role of PA Fish and Boat
Commission hatcheries through the years,
and the native fish that inhabit Lake Erie.
