Letter
from our
President
November is an exciting time at Pathways
as we prepare for the holiday season,
unroll new projects and most of all
celebrate what is designated as National
Hospice and Palliative Care Month.
At Pathways, we live every day dedicated
to providing expert and compassionate
support for our community. In honor
of National Hospice and Palliative Care
Month, I’d like to take this opportunity
to remind our community of the vast
range of hospice and palliative services
Pathways has available so that when our
services might be needed, you know what
is available.
Despite many distinct differences
between hospice and palliative care,
there are still several misconceptions
about the two care services. Hospice
care is recommended when a patient has
a progressive life-limiting illness and is
given a prognosis of six months or less.
Palliative care is a pain and symptom
management care option for patients
who have a serious illness but is not
necessarily terminal.
Both care methods include a range of
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual
support as well as respite for caregivers.
Our team of nurses, home health aides,
physicians, social workers, chaplains,
therapists and volunteers collaborate to
provide the best hospice and palliative
care possible.
Please visit pathways-care.org for more
information on the options we provide
our patients so that you may educate
yourself and your community on the care
that is available.

Colorado Gives Day is December 6!
Northern Colorado’s largest day of giving is right around the corner.
Colorado Gives Day will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6 this year.
Our 2016 theme is “My Pathways Story.” We will be featuring Pathways
members and let them share their personal experience of how Pathways
benefited them during their lives.
We encourage you to remind others that this giving opportunity is
coming up and ask that they remember Pathways on this day.
