Youth Volunteer of the Year Nathaniel (Nate) Fuller, a 16-year-old junior at South Fayette High School, is no stranger to charitable service, support and philanthropic leadership in his community. It’s his outstanding and ongoing commitment both inside the classroom and out that earned him a Community Awards of Service Excellence (CASE) Youth Volunteer of the Year Award. Fuller regularly volunteers to assist Paddle Without Pollution, PWP, a local charitable organization, with removal of debris from local and regional waterways while using canoes and kayaks. On several occasions during his clean-up efforts Fuller noted the space limitations imposed on paddlers when loading, securing and hauling debris and the unfortunate inability to remove all of it from the waterway. In September 2013, Fuller attended a Bridgeville Borough Council meeting where the devastating effects of the Chartiers Creek flood, which took its toll on various communities, was discussed.
