Elementary School Project
Planning for the new K – 2 Elementary School is near completion. District architects have met regularly with administrators, educators, and staff to ensure the design reflects the instructional and developmental needs of our youngest learners. The project was scheduled to go out for bid in mid- February, and construction is expected to last approximately 30 months after bids are finalized. To be located in the area of the current bus depot and maintenance facility, the project includes three floors with grade level classrooms designated for each floor along with multiple instructional spaces for various learner needs. It may also include an additional turf field and tennis courts to support campus activities. An architectural rendering from January 2026 is shown on the previous page and is expected to remain mostly unchanged going forward although some alternate aspects of the plans may be determined in the bid process.
Bus Depot and Maintenance Facility Contracts have been awarded for the new bus depot and maintenance building to be constructed on the former Dimun Property across from the Middle School. Staging and earthwork are expected to begin in the spring. To support this project and the future Elementary School construction, Transportation operations will relocate off campus to the former airport site on Miller’ s Run Road from April 2026 through August 2027.
Additional Improvements
In addition to the three major construction projects, upgrades have been completed to the Middle School pool and locker rooms. The Middle School PA system was replaced, as was one of the HVAC rooftop units at the high school. Issues with roof leaks across the district have been patched and continue to be monitored. Looking ahead, the stadium scoreboard will be replaced this spring, and the stadium track will be replaced in the summer months, during which time the stadium and track will be closed.
District administration extends their appreciation to district families and community members for their patience and continued support throughout these ongoing projects that will serve our learners and community for years to come.
