and student support. Plans include the project being completed in time for the opening of the 2028-29 school year.
Bus Depot and Maintenance Facility
Construction also continues on the District’ s new Bus Depot and Maintenance Facility. Summer operations have focused on roadway formation and development of the site’ s retention pond, both of which are essential to the infrastructure.
Earlier in the spring, the District’ s Transportation Department moved to a temporary location at the former airport site off Miller’ s Run Road, approximately four miles from campus. It will remain there until the new facility is completed, which is anticipated in August 2027.
Together, these projects represent more than new buildings— they are long-term investments in student success, operational excellence, and the continued growth of South Fayette Township School District. They will expand learning opportunities and modernize facilities for our growing school community. The support and patience of all district residents is appreciated as, together, we look forward to inspiring future generations of Lion Learners.
