As we prepare for what is sure to be another remarkable school year, I find myself reflecting on the many ways South Fayette continues to grow – through expanded facilities and opportunities, and through the experiences we share with our students, faculty, staff, and community each day.
Growth is often measured by milestones. This year, we celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026, young adults who exemplify resilience, curiosity, leadership, and service. Watching our graduates cross the stage is always a proud moment, reminding us that every achievement begins with a single opportunity to learn, explore, and discover.
One of the greatest privileges of serving as superintendent is the opportunity to learn alongside our students. Every classroom visit, hallway conversation, performance, and athletic competition reinforces that education is a partnership. Our students inspire us to think differently, embrace innovation, and continually improve the ways we teach, lead, and support one another. Their creativity, compassion, and determination challenge us to grow right alongside them.
That spirit of learning extends to our faculty and staff. Each summer, district employees share photos from their travels and experiences, which we chart on a world map throughout the break and celebrate during our back-to-school kickoff. It has become a meaningful tradition that reflects the vibrant culture of South Fayette and reminds us that our educators bring a wealth of experiences, perspectives, and enthusiasm back to their classrooms each fall.
Growth is also taking shape across our campus. In this issue, you’ ll read about construction projects that are creating inspiring new learning environments, as well as the professional learning and innovative programs that continue to strengthen student experiences. Whether investing in facilities or people, every decision is guided by one question: How does this best serve our students?
Beyond the classroom, our Lion student-athletes once again demonstrated excellence, earning championships, breaking records, and representing South Fayette with integrity, teamwork, perseverance, and pride. Their accomplishments remind us that education is about developing the whole child and preparing students for success in school, in their careers, and in life.
The articles in these pages reflect a district committed to continuous growth and celebrating the future. Thank you to our dedicated faculty and staff, supportive families, Board of School Directors, and community partners and residents for believing in our students and the bright future we are building together.

Finishing Touches and Fresh Foundations
The district is making significant progress with three major construction projects happening across campus, with one nearly at its completion point.
Intermediate School The transformation of the Intermediate School is becoming more visible each week as construction advances both inside and outside the building. Exterior brickwork is underway, allowing the new addition to seamlessly complement the architecture of the existing school while bringing the district’ s vision for expanded learning spaces to life.
Inside, crews are making substantial progress on the new classrooms and collaborative areas. The ordering of furniture and essential instructional technology to equip these innovative learning environments has taken place, and anticipation grows as staff prepares to move everything into place.
As the first day of the new school year approaches, district leaders will finalize which areas will be ready for immediate student occupancy. If any spaces require a later opening in September to allow for final construction completion, Intermediate School families and staff will receive advance communication well before the start of school.
Elementary School
Exciting progress is also taking place at the future Elementary School site. The early part of summer included the demolition of the former structures, including the former Nike Missile site. With the land now cleared and construction trailers in place, preparation for the new structure is accelerating.
The new three-story Elementary School is thoughtfully designed to support future generations of learners. Each grade level will occupy its own floor, complemented by a variety of flexible instructional spaces that will enhance collaboration, innovation,
