STEAM and Specials Area teachers celebrated the work of the Second Grade students by holding a week-long celebration called “ Glowing Out in Style !” From May 31 to June 6 , students entered transformed classrooms to participate in curricular activities for Art , Arts Alive , Library , Music , Physical Education , and Learning Lab . These activities included Glow Engineering , Cosmic Bowling , Glow Painting , Shadow Screen Dancing , Cardio Drumming , and even a Glow-in-the-dark Book ! began in March when STEAM Coordinator , Melissa Unger , presented the idea during a Specials Area team meeting . Lauren Cribbs , Alexis Deyarmin , Chloe Matrascia , and Dana Falosk agreed that collaborating for “ Glowing Out in Style ” would benefit the students . As Ms . Unger states , “ the program is designed to both celebrate our students as they move to the next grade level , and also to show students connections between the variety of Arts , Sciences , and Athletics available to them at South Fayette .”
The Specials Area team looks to continue this new tradition of pride and excellence for Second Grade students .
