Two Powerhouses Retire from South Fayette Elementary School outh Fayette SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
South Fayette Township Elementary School celebrated the retirements of two incredible educators . First , Kindergarten teacher Molly Franjione has retired after a 29-year career at South Fayette . Her years of service and dedication to the students impacted the lives of thousands of students and colleagues . As a Kindergarten teacher , she instilled a love of learning in her students and modeled exceptional teaching to fellow teachers .
Another retiree is Principal , Laurie Gray . Gray began her career at South Fayette in 2001 as a third-grade teacher . She has served the students as a Reading Specialist , an Assistant Principal , and finally as the Principal . During those years , Gray encouraged her staff to always prioritize the students ’ needs first . She surrounded herself with people who echo her dedication to students . As
52 SOUTH FAYETTE newly appointed Principal , Tyler Geist says , “ There are no words that adequately describe the impact Laurie Gray has had on our building and community . Her unwavering focus on excellence in all areas and strong advocacy on behalf of all students will remain with me as I begin my new role . I wish to personally and professionally thank Laurie for her contributions to South Fayette Elementary School .”
In honor of both Gray and Fanjione , the Elementary School staff and students held a weeklong celebration of their commitment to the students . The week featured themed days that reflected both educators . The days included Iowa State , IUP , and Pitt clothing Monday , Red Delicious Apple Tuesday , Tropical Day as both will be retiring to warmer climates , and Green and White day for their years of service here at South Fayette . In addition , a breakfast with speeches and special entertainment allowed the ES staff to celebrate the next step in life ’ s journey for both . Finally , a newer tradition of clapping out the retirees on the last day with students continued .
