Hundreds of Students Converge
On South Fayette High School!
the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society.
“We could not be more pleased that the National Student
Council Conference was hosted at South Fayette High School in
2019,” said NASSP Executive Director JoAnn Bartoletti. “NASSP
is deeply committed to developing student leaders, and the
model that South Fayette provides made the school the ideal
site for this prestigious event.”
During the conference, both students and adults heard from
motivational speakers, attended workshops, and networked
with their peers. Many delegates from across the country also
had the opportunity to sightsee in the Pittsburgh region before
the conference, something noted by Allegheny County Chief
Executive Rich Fitzgerald, who also spoke to attendees on the
opening day of the conference.
In addition to being a great opportunity for the attendees,
the conference also provided opportunities for dozens of
South Fayette students to assist in the planning and execution
of this event. This was a student run endeavor, and the work
of conference co-chairs Dorfner and Pollock, along with the
entire student team at South Fayette High School, ensured this
was an unforgettable experience for all attendees, and also
ensured they returned home better equipped to make positive
changes in their own communities.
