FALL RUN PARK UPDATE
Fall Run Park received extensive storm damage in September,
2015. The storm caused erosion damage to the bridges and
walkways and the park was deemed unsafe for recreational use.
Signs were posted in the park allowing access, however visitors
were advised that traversing the park would be at their own risk.
The Township has hired a consultant, Gateway Engineering to
conduct a thorough evaluation of the park and submit
recommendations for park
rehabilitation. The preliminary
study results have been
submitted and consist of
streambank and hillside
stabilization and bridge/
walkway reconstruction. The
bridges and walkways will be
redesigned to withstand
record event rainfall and
enhance the aesthetic beauty
of this Township asset. We
anticipate that we will be
bidding the construction work
in the next few months and
accomplish the rehabilitation
in three phases. Due to the
financial and construction
commitment, the entire
process may take 16-24
months to accomplish. It is
estimated that the total
projects costs could exceed
38 Shaler
$850,000 contingent upon the final design and bid results. We are
anxious for the project to commence and celebrate the reopening
of the park as soon as possible. Please be assured that the
Township is committed to this project and is confident that the
end result will be well worth the long wait..
