MARCH IS WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH!
The Library will be celebrating with a special raffle of beautiful
and collectible March Family Madame Alexander dolls, plus special
showings of the “Little Women” movies over the years. Watch for
details.
THE GREAT DEBATE EVENTS (BUT FOR FUN!)
As 2020 contains a presidential election, SNHL is debating about
what really matters, followed by a presentation by local experts
referencing the debate topic. Fun and informative!
Tuesdays at 6:45 PM on the following dates:
• April 14 - Cats vs. Dogs: Who is most worthy to share the
family couch? Ask the Vet! Dr. Kathy answers your pet
questions.
• June 16 - Bike vs. Car: Two wheels good, four wheels bad – or
the opposite? Experts from Walk Bike Shaler will fill you in on
the best way to ride.
• August 18 - Harry vs. Ron: Who should Hermione have
chosen? Dr. Kathleen Roberts, Harry Potter guru, presents a
magical night.
• October 20 - Candy Corn vs. Chocolate: Which is THE sweet
treat? Pittsburgh’s Sweet Treats has some tips and goodies
for you.

BORROW FROM SNHL’S “LIBRARY OF THINGS”
Everyone knows that SNHL is the place to borrow a good book, a
rockin’ music CD, a recent movie on DVD, or your favorite magazine.
But did you know that we have a “Library of Things” to borrow,
FREE with your library card? Hobbyists can check out our telescope,
metal detector, and binoculars. Cooks love our themed cake pans.
Families go from “bored” to “board” with our great selection of
games. Energy buffs plug in our power usage meter. Children love
our Kindergarten, Storybook and American Girl Doll backpacks.
Yearbooks from the Shaler area are available to browse in print or
digitally. Some items have a wait list; others are grab-and-go. Call
or visit to learn more. All are innovative items in our collection of
materials. We truly live up to our motto, SNHL: Books…and so
much more.
PROGRAMMING AND MORE FOR ADULTS
A library card, a computer, and Internet access are all you need
for FREE electronic resources from home! eLibrary has links to
ebooks, audio, magazines and research. Creativebug.com has
more than 1,000 award-winning art and craft video classes taught
by recognized design experts and artists. Printeron allows you to
print any document or web page from your computer, phone or
tablet, and then send the print job to our Library printer. Pick up a
brochure or visit the Library website to learn more. We also have
Book Groups and Social Groups that meet regularly at the Library.
