COMMUNITY EVENTS NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK DAY SHALER NORTH HILLS LIBRARY ANNUAL PINE CREEK CLEANUP Saturday, April 7 from 8:00 AM to Noon All are welcome to volunteer. Meet at 8:00 AM at the Hampton VFD, 2536 Duncan Avenue in Allison Park. Clean-up will include the creek banks from North Park in Hampton to the Shop’n Save in Shaler and is sponsored by the Allison Park Sportsmen’s Club. Gloves, vests, and garbage bags as well as lunch will be provided to all volunteers. Saturday, April 28. 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM The Shaler Township Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration will be assisting in our Drug Take-Back. Any over-the-counter, controlled substance or prescription medication may be submitted. Sharps and syringes will not be accepted due to safety reasons. EARTH DAY CLEAN UP OFF-SITE MOBILE SHREDDING EVENT Saturday, April 21, 9:00 AM to Noon Shaler Township will provide the bags and gloves for all those volunteers or groups who would like to “Clean-Up” on Earth Day. Allison Park Sportsmen’s Club members will be on hand starting at 8:00 AM Saturday, April 14 to provide assistance, share bait and to offer the loan of fishing rods. The fishing area is designated for children under the age of 12 and accompanied by an adult. Saturday, May 19, 9:00 AM to Noon Hampton High School Parking Lot 2929 McCully Road, Allison Park State Representative Hal English will be sponsoring an Off-Site Mobile Shredding Event in conjunction with Hampton Township School District’s Recycle Rama. GLENSHAW CENTURY CLUB LUNCHEON & FASHION SHOW Saturday, April 28 10:30 AM Wildwood Golf Club 2195 Sample Road Allison Park Tickets are $40 and reservations are being taken by Dianne at 412-487-5595. Talbot’s will be sponsoring the fashion show. There will be fabulous basket drawings and beads, baubles and bling on sale as well. Doors will open at 10:30 with luncheon being served at noon. The Glenshaw Century Club’s primary objective is to provide grants to graduating Shaler high school students based on merit and need and to promote the good and welfare of the elderly and disadvantaged.
