Shaler Area Students Receive Top Honors
in the Annual Junior Classical League State
Convention
Shaler Area students studying Latin competed in various
academic, artistic and athletic competitions in the annual
Pennsylvania Junior Classical League state convention in May.
Students competed against peers from 20 schools across the
state. The following students placed in the listed competitions:

Location: Biles Turf Field at Shaler Area High School
Details: Come celebrate the fall sports athletes and enjoy
a slice of pie while cheering them on in a pie eating contest.

Shaler Area Homecoming
Date: Saturday, Oct. 8
Time: Parade at 10:30 a.m.; Picnic at noon; Game at 1:30
p.m.
Location: Mount Royal Blvd. for the parade and Shaler Area
Middle School campus and Titan Stadium for the picnic and
game.
Details: Shaler Area School District will celebrate
Homecoming 2016 with their annual parade, picnic and
homecoming game. The parade will include floats, banners
and district organizations representing this year’s theme

SAFE Family Wellness 5K Run/Walk
Date: Saturday, Oct. 8
Time: 6:30 to 8 a.m. registration at Kiwanis Park; Race starts
at 8 a.m. before the Homecoming parade

Area Education Foundation Family Wellness 5K Run/
Walk to raise money for educational programs at Shaler
