In the special “housing” ceremony Shaler Township Manager Tim Rogers congratulated the firefighters and thanked them for their continuous service to the community. Also in attendance was Shaler Township Commissioner Wayne Skelley. The new Rescue 2 was built by 4Guys Fire Truck Manufacturer of Meyersdale, PA. It is built on a Ford 550 Super Duty XL cab and chassis. Chief Jim Skalos said “Rescue 2 is equipped with all of the most up to date equipment on the market today including the new Hurst eDRAULIC rescue tools which includes a spreader, cutter and rams. These tools will give us more flexibility when answering motor vehicle crashes.” Chief Skalos also mentioned that it is through the generosity and support of the community that made the purchase of the new truck possible.
