GLENSHAW CENTURY CLUB EARNS SILVER FOR BEST OF THE BEST NORTH NONPROFIT
When a nonprofit is recognized by the community it serves, the honor carries lasting significance. The Glenshaw Century Club earning the Silver Award for Best of the Best North nonprofit from TribLive is a meaningful affirmation of the Club’ s impact, trust, and more than 80 years of service.
The Best of the Best North honors are determined by public vote, making this recognition especially powerful. In a region rich with nonprofits doing vital work, the Glenshaw Century Club’ s Silver distinction reflects deep community appreciation for its mission and consistency. The Century Club serves the Shaler Area and North Hills by providing civic services and supporting at-risk populations in need of food, shelter, and financial aid.
For generations, the Club has focused on improving children’ s lives. To date, it has awarded over $ 700,000 in higher education grants, helping students pursue opportunities that might not otherwise be possible. The organization has also distributed thousands of Caring Bears to children in hospitals and challenging circumstances, offering comfort when it matters most.
This recognition celebrates more than a single year— it honors decades of steady, member-led service rooted in compassion, generosity, and responsibility. It also highlights the important role womenled organizations play in strengthening local communities.
Earning the Best of the Best North Silver Award brings renewed visibility to the Club’ s mission and momentum for the future. The Century Club will host their annual Spring Craft Fair fundraiser on Saturday, March 21, 2026, and its annual Spring Luncheon Fashion Show fundraiser on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The Shaler Area Rotary would like to welcome it’ s two newest members, Jordana Zober Cuttita and Christopher Lustic. Jordana spear heads a wonderful project called the Blessing Basket which provides Thanksgiving baskets to local families in need. Addressing food insecurity is a goal of Shaler Rotary and we remain committed to supporting local food banks, preparing Thanksgiving meals, and supporting the Shaler Area Backpack Initiative. Christopher is the Branch Manager at First National Bank in Millvale and is committed to supporting our community, and we are happy to have him on board. This winter, we wrapped up our comfort bags project. These bags were supplied with hygiene and comfort items and grocery gift cards and were donated to our local police forces in Shaler, Millvale, Etna, and Reserve Township. The comfort bags are intended to help women and children in domestic violence situations who must leave their homes quickly, leaving personal items and necessities behind. To continue our community service projects, the Shaler Area Rotary Club hosts an annual charity golf outing at Wildwood Golf Club and this year’ s event is being planned for Monday, September 14th, 2026. To learn more about Shaler Rotary, visit our website at www. shalerarearotary. org or find us on Facebook. New members are always welcome.
