� Civic Leadership
Shaler Area High School student Kori Wilson has been named winner of Allegheny County Council’ s inaugural Civic Engagement Competition.
Kori was nominated by Shaler Area High School Teacher Abbey Nilson, who shares,“ Kori has been a leader in the sustainability club throughout high school, and is currently the co-president. She is kind, caring, and takes leadership in so many community projects. I’ m so incredibly proud of her!”
� Historic Champions
In its inaugural season, the Shaler Area Flag Football Team made history by capturing the WPIAL Championship with a dominant 34-0 victory over Plum. Their extraordinary accomplishment speaks to the culture Head Coach Robby Heinrich, who was named Giant Eagle Girls Flag Football Coach of the Year, has built from the ground up in year one. The team represented Shaler Area at the highest levels of good sportsmanship and competitive excellence all season, giving our entire community a truly historic reason to celebrate!

Jocelyn Hartz received the Air Force Reserve Courageous Kids Contest Winner from Our Military Kids. A member of the Shaler Area Class of 2026, Jocelyn serves her community as a volunteer firefighter, following the example of her father, an Air Force reservist.
