PITTSBURGH YOUTH CHORUS TO PRESENT‘ A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING’ CABARET
The Pittsburgh Youth Chorus( PYC) will present its Grand Night for Singing cabaret on Tuesday, June 2, at 5:30 p. m. at Greystone Fields in Gibsonia. This lively, family-friendly event will showcase the talents of PYC’ s young performers in an evening of solo and group numbers spanning a variety of music styles.
The cabaret will also feature special guest artists, including Scott Blasey, Steven Brault, Isabel Valasek and Liz Berlin, adding star power to an already exciting program.
Founded in 1981, the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus is dedicated to providing high-quality vocal training and performance opportunities for young singers throughout the region. Under the direction of Dr. Christine Jordanoff, the organization continues to inspire confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of music.

PITTSBURGH POWER & FITNESS FESTIVAL The Pittsburgh Power & Fitness Festival returned May 16 & 17 to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, bringing together elite athletes and fitness enthusiasts for a high-energy event.
Featuring competitions in bodybuilding, strongman, powerlifting, martial arts, wrestling and more— along with a large-scale fitness expo— the festival also included the IFBB Pro League Pittsburgh Pro competition with $ 415,000 in prize money on the line.
New for the 2026 event were expanded competitions, educational seminars and national-level events, further establishing the festival as a premier fitness showcase in the region.
THREE ESTABLISHMENTS ADDED TO THE STRIP DISTRICT
Three new food and drink destinations— Juniper Grill, Atria’ s and 1930 Cigar Bar— have opened in Pittsburgh’ s Strip District, bringing fresh energy to the city’ s dining scene.
Led by local restaurateurs Pat and Nancy McDonnell, the 11,000-squarefoot space combines California-inspired cuisine, modern comfort food and a refined cigar lounge experience, marking a new chapter of elevated casual dining and neighborhood hospitality in one of Pittsburgh’ s fastest-growing areas.
NORTH PITTSBURGH QUILTERS GUILD TO HOST QUILT SHOW
The North Pittsburgh Quilters Guild( NPQG) is hosting a quilt show celebrating 250 years of America, Sept. 11 – 13 at the Ross Township Community Center, 1000 Ross Municipal Drive.
It will be open from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 p. m. on Sunday. Admission is $ 10. The show will have vendors, raffle baskets, a raffle quilt and a Treasure Chest filled with fabric and other quilting items.
NPQG is a nonprofit whose main goal is to further the quilting skills and knowledge of its members. It accomplishes this goal through programming, local and national speakers, workshops, lectures and a sewing retreat. The guild also participates in community service projects, including making quilts for foster children, Quilts of Valor, blankets for women’ s shelters and items for cancer patients.
The guild was founded in 1981 when women from a community college quilting class decided they wanted to continue to learn and grow as a group. Members are of all ages and levels of experience, and anyone interested is encouraged to join.
