Educational Improvement Tax Credit
donation from Northwest Savings

“Thank you to Northwest Savings
Bank for recognizing the value of
a well-funded school district and
the programs that will be funded by its
generosity,” Dorothy Pollon, president of the
FRIENDS OF QUAKER VALLEYS SCHOOLS Education Foundation, said.
Through the EITC program, Northwest Savings Bank is helping
to fund the Studio Life Art program at Quaker Valley Middle School
as well as other afterschool programs offered by the Quaker Valley
School District.
The Studio Life Art program is designed to provide students in
grades 6-12 with advanced academic choices by extending the
school day. Led by teacher Dr. Jeff Evancho, the program is offered
from 3-5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and includes art history,
philosophy as well as science-based service learning. Students
gain skills and experience in problem solving and cooperative
learning. In addition, the program provides opportunities for high
school students to serve as mentors – offering valuable lessons in
leadership development.
“A well-funded, progressive, state-of-the-art school
district attracts business development,
committed parents to their children’s
education, and hard-working students
who are productive, successful in
their academics, participate in
co-curricular activities and are
committed to volunteerism
and making a difference in
their community,” Mrs. Pollon
said. “We appreciate Northwest
