Ross Township Business and Economic
Development Corp. “RED”
The RED (Ross Business and Economic Development) welcomed
our Ross Township Police Department K-9's and their handlers to
our luncheon. Sgt. Matthew Grubb
introduced our newest member
Jimy. The K-9's showed us how well
they have been trained to obey
commands, search for marijuana,
and follow orders from their
handlers.
The business people that
attended were very impressed with the k9's and feel safe in the
Township with our K-9's protecting us. We thank Sgt. Grubb for
coordinating this event for us.
For more information on the Ross Business Association, that
is open to all Ross businesses, please call Commissioner Grace
Stanko at 412 855 9598.
St. Teresa of Avila Church
St. Teresa of Avila Church is celebrating their 150th
Anniversary on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the
Great Hall. The original church was in the same
space as the Great Hall and commonly referred
to as the little red church. The church began with
two hundred families and today proudly
serves over 2700 families under the
direction of Father Robert Vular.
The Ross Township Board of
Commissioners congratulates
Saint Teresa of Avila Church on their
150th Anniversary.

STATE REPRESENTATIVE
Dom Costa
From the office of State Representative Dom Costa:
If you are not aware, Governor Wolf has extended the 2016
Property Tax Rent Rebate until December 31st, 2017. Home
owners or renters that have not filed may be eligible for a
rebate if your annual income does not exceed $35,000 as a
homeowner or $15,000 as a renter. The program benefits eligible
Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50
and older; and people that are 100% disabled ages 18 and older.
Applications are available at our office.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
will reopen November 1, 2017. It helps keep families safe and
healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs.
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
helps low-income families pay their heating bills. LIHEAP is
a grant. You do not have to repay it. The 2017-2018 income
guidelines are $18,090 for a single household and for each
additional person add $6,270. If you have received assistance in
the past look for your application that should be coming soon or
if you think you may qualify but are not sure contact our office
for assistance.
I am often asked how to be added to the DO NOT CALL LIST. It is
strongly recommended that you contact the National Registry
at 1-888-382-1222 and the State Registry at 1-888-777-3406.
You may need to register more than once if you enter a contest
or sign-up for a promotion as this cancels your Do Not Call
registration with that business since authorization to call you
was given and a business relationship has commenced. There
are also exceptions to the Do Not Call law as it allows politicians,
charitable organizations, and entities with whom there is a
business relationship to be able to place calls to your phone
number. However, Consumers can revoke or cancel the business
relationship by requesting placement on the business' internal
Do Not Call List. Also it is recommended that all adults in a
household individually register under Do Not Call, even though
they will be listing the same home phone number.
For more information on
the items listed above or for
assistance with any state
related issue please call my
office at 412-361-2040.
