A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT:
Welcome to Sarah Poweska,
Ross Township’s New Tax Collector!
O
n March 19, 2018, Ross Township
swore in Sarah Poweska as the
Township’s new Tax Collector. This
appointment was necessary due to
the untimely and unfortunate passing of the
Township’s elected tax collector, Jerry O’Brien.
Sarah will serve as the Township’s appointed
tax collector until December 31, 2019.
Sarah has been a resident of the Township for
the past ten years and lives in the Perrysville
neighborhood with her husband and two
children. Sarah enjoys volunteering and
giving back to her community. She has been
a Girl Scout leader for a troop for the past
six years and has been an active member of
the Highcliff Elementary PTO. Last fall they
adopted two puppies that were rescued from
Hurricane Harvey.
Sarah has vast experience working for
nonprofits throughout Pittsburgh as a
fundraising professional. Sarah is excited
about her appointment and is looking forward
to working with the Board of Commissioners
to ensure the continued economic growth and
vibrancy of the Township.

In 2018, tax collection will be at the Ross
Township Municipal Building and the schedule
has been expanded to include evening and
weekend hours. The list of collection dates and
times are listed within this current issue of In
Ross Township.
