Ross Township Police Department – Leading the Way
The Ross Township Police is widely known to be one of the best
departments in Allegheny County and the entire Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania. With our large commercial corridors, Ross attracts
visitors from all over the region. The officers face a challenging job
on a daily basis addressing and responding to a variety of situations
around the clock. In the midst of these challenges, I am pleased
that our officers have exhibited tremendous professionalism and
outstanding commitment in service to our community. Let’s be
sure to support our Police officers and express our thanks to them
when we see them in and around the community!
Ross Township Volunteer Fire Departments, Fire Police, and
EMS
In addition to our Police Department, we have a strong backbone
of first responders throughout Ross Township. Hundreds of
volunteers serve in our eight volunteer fire departments, and the
fire police freely give of their time to help make Ross better. These
volunteers are a wonderful asset, and we owe them our gratitude
for their service. Please consider joining one of these organizations
to help them fulfill their mission. Finally, while we hope that we
never need them, the Ross/West View EMS offers top-notch and
quick service to many communities in the North Hills. They have
helped save numerous lives through their strong training and
dedication to excellence.
Your Commissioners are here to serve you!
At times you may encounter issues in your neighborhood or simply
have a question/suggestion. Please remember your Commissioners
are here to serve you. As always, please do not hesitate to contact
me or another Commissioner if you have concerns, questions, or
suggestions. It is my continuing hope that as a community, we
can work together to make Ross an even better place for all our
residents!
Best regards,
Jeremy Shaffer, Ph.D.

R OSS TOWN SHI P N E WS
I
t has been a very busy summer here in Ross! For those who drive
along McKnight Road, you likely have noticed the multiplication
of construction zones including the rapidly progressing Block
at Northway. I also hope that you have taken advantage of the
many opportunities to connect with others in the township this
summer. Township staff and volunteers put forth a remarkable
effort to coordinate events such as our Independence Day Parade,
Community Day with fireworks, Movies in Township parks, the
Fishing Tournament at Evergreen Park, seminars, and summer
camps. Summer has been anything but a vacation for Township
staff and volunteers! On behalf of the Board of Commissioners and
all of the residents of Ross, I want to send out a large THANK YOU to
all of those who have supported these events.
