PLUM
CLEAN-UP DAY
H
ave you ever
wondered how
long it takes to eat
a hamburger from a
fast food on Route
286? Drive up New Texas Road
from 286 and this question will be
answered…it actually doesn’t take
very long!
In conjunction with Earth Day,
Plum Borough will hold its 5th
Annual Spring Clean-Up Day on
Saturday April 18th. There is no
better way to make Plum a better
place to live and work than joining
your neighbors for this event.
This is great event for church
groups, scout groups, athletic
teams, homeowners associations,
clubs and businesses to play an
active role in cleaning up the
community.
Every year volunteers collect
well over a hundred bags of
garbage along the roads in the
Borough. This waste is generated
for the most part by people
throwing items out of their
vehicles.
Come out and make a
difference in your community!
Volunteers and volunteer groups
should register by calling the
Borough Office at 412.795.6800
ext. 4204 or email plumcleanup@
plumboro.com. The sooner you
sign up the sooner you can be
assigned a specific area to clean.
Early registration also allows
the Borough to make sure it has
enough gloves, bags and other
materials for the volunteers. Last
year all the supplies were gone
within a half hour of the start of
check-in.
Volunteers interested in
participating in this event are
asked to check-in at the Borough’s
Public Works facility on Old Mine
Road starting at 8:00 am. There
will be light refreshments as well
as a chance for your group to
appear on the Plum TV segment
that will be recorded that day.
Take an hour or two out of your
day to help celebrate Earth Day!
