Students Earn Top Ranks in Statewide Personal Budgeting Challenge
Celebrating Plum Borough Achievements in
ACADEMICS, ATHLETICS, and THE ARTS
O’ Block Elementary School earned third place in Pennsylvania in the Spring 2026 Personal Budgeting Challenge, hosted by Brighter Financial Futures. The competition challenges students to develop and apply real-world financial literacy skills in areas including budgeting and stock market investing.
Three O’ Block students earned individual distinctions as well: Bella King recorded Plum’ s top score in Budgeting in the Budget Game; Anvesha Panchal claimed Plum’ s best score for Investing in the Stock Market Game; and Zachary Danzuso won third place overall in the commonwealth!

7 Gene Kelly Award Nominations for Seussical
The Plum Senior High School theater program earned seven nominations from the Pittsburgh CLO’ s Gene Kelly Awards for their production of Seussical. The nominations span Outstanding Musical, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Scenic Design, Crew / Technical Execution, Dance Ensemble, and Vocal Ensemble— a breadth of recognition that reflects the all-around strength of the production. From imaginative costumes and scenic design to the precision of the technical crew and the energy of student performers, every element of the show earned the attention of the selection committee. Plum took home the awards for Outstanding Dance Ensemble, and Outstanding Vocal Ensemble. Congratulations on a wonderful production!

Historic Day on the Track
The Plum Senior High School Boys Track and Field team delivered one of the most accomplished performances in program history at the WPIAL Class 3A Championships, earning eight PIAA state qualifications and claiming its first section title since 1999. Senior Owen Proskin led the way with four medals— three gold and one silver— qualifying for states in four separate events. Senior Sloan Humphries claimed the WPIAL triple jump championship, junior Kent Holmes took bronze in the 400-meter dash, and the 400 relay team set a school record of 42.70 on their way to a silver medal finish!
