“Our quality craftsmanship and attention to detail set us apart from
the competition. We know how valuable your home is to you,” Andrew
said. “We’re a family business, living here in the community. We
support the community and help out with Habitat for Humanity and
PHFA to help the less fortunate get a roof over their head. We also help
out a lot of churches and community groups like the VFW and other
various nonprofits if they need services we can provide. It’s our way of
giving back.”
Homeowners have a hard time knowing when their roof is nearing
the end of its useful life because a roof isn’t easily inspected without
heading up a steep ladder. However, there are some signs you can
look for from the ground level that will tell you it’s time to call Bella
Construction.
The first sign and most obvious to find is evidence of missing
shingles. Shingles are laid in a neat pattern and if you have a gap
where the black tar paper is showing through, your roof is exposed. If
shingles are missing or lifting due to wind damage, it may be covered
under your homeowner’s insurance policy. Second, lifting shingles are
a concern. Shingles that are not laying flat because of wind damage
are exposing your roof to areas where water may leak in. The third sign
is found on the ground and is a collection of shingle granules at your
downspouts. These granules are embedded in shingles for texture and
protection, and missing granules are a good indicator of very old and
worn shingles.
“If you see anything like that, you want to call us right away,” Andrew
said. “Our crews are so efficient that we can do most roofs in a day,
but you want to get that consultation done as soon as possible so
we can schedule your job on the calendar. We try to schedule as
soon as possible, but with the amount of emergency work we do,
homeowners can expect a roofing job to start about two to three
weeks after the initial consultation. Gutters start about three weeks
after consultation, and siding requires about a month of lead time.”
Once all of the material has been ordered and delivered, you can
expect a quick and efficient installation from the first nail going in to
the last nail picked up by the crew that cleans your yard at the end of
the day.
