SEPTEMBER IS LOVE YOUR LIBRARY MONTH
This September, celebrate the ninth annual Love Your Library campaign! We will be holding several events throughout the month.
Please come in and show your support for the library and all proceeds boost our Love Your Library donation total! All donations made to NTRL during the month of September will receive a prorated match from the Buncher Foundation.
THE WEEKLY CRAFT
Pickup on Tuesdays
Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy a simple, weekly take-home craft! Please call or register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up on Tuesdays and enjoyed at home.
BABY PLAYTIME
Tuesdays @ 11 a. m.
Come enjoy a half hour of fun with your baby! We’ ll share songs, fingerplays, stories, and rhymes. Meet other parents and their babies, and enjoy some special time together. This program is intended for babies ages 0-18 months and will be held Tuesday mornings in the program room on our main level. Siblings are welcome, and only one registration is required for the series of four playtimes.
STORY & PLAYTIME
Wednesdays @ 10:30 a. m. Thursdays @ 10:30 a. m.
Join us Wednesday and Thursday mornings to share songs, rhymes, and books in the library’ s program room on the main level! Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on, but it’ s not necessary as we will be on a carpeted floor. This program is for toddlers, preschoolers and their families. Registration is required, and only one registration is necessary for the series of four storytimes.
POKEMON CLUB
Bring your cards or games and join other Pokémon trainers at the library to trade and play together on the first Monday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p. m.! Boards will be available for the card game, and a Pokémonrelated project will be there to enjoy. This event is self-directed and open to children, teens and their families. Registration is required.
MAKER MONDAYS
Hey teens! Join us at Northern Tier Library on select Mondays from 3 to 5 p. m. to create fun projects related to art, crafts, electronics, sewing and more! Or you can enjoy a take-home kit featuring directions and materials to complete a craft from our Makerspace! Register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up on Mondays and enjoyed at home.
NONFICTION BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP
Third Tuesday of the month @ 1 p. m.
BRIDGET’ S BOOK CLUB
Second Wednesday of the month @ 6:30 p. m.
A GREAT DEAL: GAME GROUP
Join us in the library every Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 1 p. m. to play some games! We’ re currently offering pinochle on Tuesdays and American Mahjong on Wednesdays, but additional games may follow. Registration is requested.
TECHNOLOGY HELP
Get help with technology! Register for a 30-minute session between 2 and 4 p. m. on Wednesdays to focus on a basic topic like computers, smartphones, eReaders, Microsoft Office programs and more.
YARNS N’ AT
Our fiber arts group will meet on the first and third Saturdays from 10:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. to hang out and practice their preferred style of fiber art. Registration is requested for new attendees.
PROGRAMMING @ THE PINE CENTER
A VERY PINE BIRTHDAY PARTY!
The Pine Center is turning 1! Help us celebrate this milestone during the month of September! Throughout the whole month we will have activities to celebrate in the library, plus a giving tree for presents that can be purchased to help show your support for the library.
We will host our birthday party on Saturday Sept. 20, at 10 a. m.! There will be cupcakes, snacks, fun activities and more.
FAMILY STORYTIME
Come to the Pine Center on Fridays at 11 a. m. for an all-ages storytime! Sing, move, read books and practice rhymes. For children of all ages; registration is required.
STEM TAKE-HOME CRAFTS
Every month, in conjunction with our children’ s display, the Pine Center library will offer a free STEM take-home craft available for pickup until supplies last. No registration required.
THE PINE NEEDLES
The Pine Center invites all yarn art enthusiasts to the Pine Center on the first Thursday of each month from 4 to 5:30 p. m. Beginners can learn how to knit. Experienced crafters are welcome to bring a project to work on. We’ ll talk about life, books we’ ve read, and projects we’ re always working on but may never finish! Hope to see you then! Registration is requested.
LIBRARY LEADERS
Library Leaders 2.0 will start fresh on Thursday, Sept. 11, with monthly town hall meetings for volunteers in 5th grade and up.
YOUTH BOOK CLUB
Starting in August, join the Library Leaders monthly for a new middle grade fiction book club meeting at the Pine Center library. Check our calendar for more details as we move forward; registration required.
COFFEE & CRIME
Take a coffee break and join us at the Pine Community Center on the 4th Thursday of the month at 5:30 p. m. to discuss the month’ s voted-on book. Coffee and snacks provided!
PINING FOR BOOKS BOOK CLUB @ THE PINE CENTER
Held the second Monday of the month at 2 p. m. to discuss the month’ s selected read, this group reads a variety of genres and subjects.
