NATURE-OLOGY : BUGS
Right under your feet , there are thousands of animals . Some with six legs , some with more – much more . And they ’ ve lived here long before we did . Let ’ s talk about Bugs , this time with Tony on Tuesday Sept . 13 at 5:30 p . m .
POKÉMON : PINE & RICHLAND Saturday , Sept . 10 Noon to 2 p . m . Join in on the Pokémania at the library at this program on Saturday , Sept . 10 from Noon to 2 p . m . We ’ ll offer a variety of stations , crafts and activities . We ’ ll be making Poké art with resin , crafting neon drawings of game cards and much more . We ’ ll also be playing the AR game , Pokémon GO and Smash Bros starring Pikachu . For children 5 & up and their families .
TAKE-HOME CRAFTS Tuesdays , Sept . 6 through Oct . 11 Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy a simple , weekly take-home craft ! Please call or register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up on Tuesdays and enjoyed at home .
THE WEEKLY PROJECT Tuesdays , Sept . 6 through Oct . 11 The Weekly Project features a variety of activities like cooking , crafting , art , and STEM . Each week will showcase a different project for children to work on with their families . Please call or register online to reserve a supply kit that can be picked up on Tuesdays and enjoyed at home .
FAMILY STORY & PLAYTIME
Join us on Wednesday and Thursday mornings on the library ’ s lower level for an indoor story and playtime ! Sessions are available : Wednesdays , Sept . 7 – Oct . 12 at 10:30 a . m . Thursdays , Sept . 8 – Oct . 13 at 10:30 a . m .
Your blanket will be on a carpeted floor , and will be your area to maintain social distance while sitting down to enjoy the program . Registration is required and encouraged to be early , because only 15 families will be able to attend any given session . Please make sure to attend if you register . We want everyone to have an opportunity to participate , but space will be limited . This program is for babies , toddlers , preschoolers , and their families .
BLOCK PARTY
Explore our block and toy collection in the company of other families ! Block Party is a PA State Library initiative aimed to encourage the use of block play for developmental learning . The program room will be set up on Wednesday , Sept . 7 from 4:30 to 6:30 p . m . with building toys and manipulatives , encouraging children to self-guide their participation . This is a drop-in program for all ages , but we ask for registration so we know you ’ re coming ! Face coverings are encouraged for attendees over 2 years old .
ROBOTICS & CODING CLUB
Stop by the library to engage with a variety of toys and tools that allow you to develop your skills in robotics , programming , and coding . We ’ ll offer access to educational items that will encourage kids , and adults alike , to learn the basics of coding and programming . This self-guided program will be open to patrons on Sept . 19 4:30 to 6:30 p . m . This is a drop-in program for all ages , but we ask for registration so we know you ’ re coming . Face coverings are encouraged for attendees over 2 years old .
DIWALI : FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
CELEBRATION Thursday , Oct . 20 , 5 to 6 p . m . The library is hosting its first Diwali celebration with some crafts and activities related to this beautiful traditional celebration , the Festival of Lights . For all ages . Registration is required
HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION Thursday , Oct . 27 , 5 to 6 p . m . Join us for some outdoor Halloween fun . We ’ ll have trick-or-treating , spooky take home craft kits and a costume parade . This event will be held outdoors and its weather permitting . In case of rain , we will be hosting our program indoors . For all ages , registration is required .
