BACK TO SCHOOL COLLEGE ADMISSIONS : What is Changing and What You Need to Do
Get ready at the library on Aug . 31 , 6:30 to 8 p . m . College admissions are always evolving ; keeping on top of the trends and changes is essential for a successful process . Join Axios Tutoring and Northern Tier Library for an open dialogue , where we will discuss current trends in college admissions . What , when and how do sophomores and juniors prepare themselves ? Getting started with your college search , understanding timelines , college visits , application types , etc . Registration is required .
EVENING YOGA FLOW CLASS Sept . 13 and Sept . 27 , 6 to 7 p . m . End your day with a gentle outdoor vinyasa yoga flow class designed to calm the mind and prepare your body for deep rest . You will move mindfully in a straightforward flow with some longer holds , gentle twists , hip openers , and forward folds to burn off any excess energy from the day . This class , taught by Sheri Ward , will allow you to wind down the body and relax your mind for a restful evening . No fancy yoga pants or previous experience required . Come comfortable and ready to stretch .
There is a fee for this class of $ 9 that will be charged upon registration . Advance registration is required .
ZUMBA Oct . 3 through Nov . 21 , 6 to 6:45 p . m . Zumba is a strong cardio and muscular workout , incorporating dances such as merengue , salsa , hip-hop , and belly dancing . Classes will be held on Mondays , Oct . 3 through Nov . 21 . A fee of $ 55 is charged for the series if paid in advance prior to the first class , or you can pay as you go at $ 9 per class . The fee must be paid at the time of registration .
SENIORS FOR SAFE DRIVING @ THE
LIBRARY Sept . 8 , 10 a . m . to 2 p . m . Seniors for Safe Driving is a PennDOTapproved business offering mature driver improvement courses . The courses are for drivers 55 years of age or older , and the fee is $ 16 payable to Seniors for Safe Driving . Participants who complete the course will receive a minimum 5 percent discount on their auto insurance as required by state law . No exam will be given and the course is classroom instruction only .
