ADVENTURE AWAITS
With more than 850 members from communities throughout the Pittsburgh area, Three Rivers Explorers is making it easier for dads and kids to hit pause and enjoy time together.

Life with kids can move pretty quickly. Between work, school, sports, activities and all of the other commitments that fill a family calendar, finding time to simply slow down and enjoy being together isn’ t always easy. That’ s part of the reason Three Rivers Explorers was created.
The Pittsburgh-area organization gives dads and their children opportunities to get out, try something new and make memories together— without requiring families to commit to a rigid schedule. What started with a group of dads who had experienced similar parent-child adventure programs themselves has grown into a community of hundreds of dads and kids from throughout the region.
“ All of the founders of the Three Rivers Explorers have participated in parent-child adventure programs for many years,” says one of those founders, Gregory McVicker.“ We all felt strongly that this program and its mission of
